When an abnormality detection unit detects an abnormality in a vehicle
brake system, a heat generation suppression unit operates the motor
intermittently to suppress heat generation by the motor. A pressure
increase determination unit determines whether there is a need to
increase pressure to the wheel cylinders of the brake system. When there
is a need to increase pressure to the wheel cylinders, the heat
generation suppression unit operates the motor. When there is no need to
increase pressure to the wheel cylinders, the heat generation suppression
unit stops the motor.
