In methods, compounds, and topical formulations for treatment of rosacea incorporating compounds represented by the formulas below: ##STR00001## wherein each of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3 is independently hydrogen, hologen, alkyl, or alkoxy; each of R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 is independently hydrogen, alkyl, or alkoxy; and each of R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 is independently hydrogen, nitro, alkyl, or alkoxy; wherein each of A.sub.1, A.sub.3, and A.sub.4 is independently hydrogen or alkyl; and A.sub.2 is independently hydrogen or hydroxy; and wherein each of B.sub.1, B.sub.2, and B.sub.3 is independently hydrogen, hydroxy, or alkoxy; and each of B.sub.4 and B.sub.5 is independently hydrogen or alkyl, applying such compounds topically as sprays, mists, aerosols, solutions, lotions, gels, creams, ointments, pastes, unguents, emulsions, and suspensions to treat rosacea and its symptoms.
