The subject of the invention is a method of refining glass for which the temperature (T log 2) corresponding to a viscosity of 100 poise (10 Pas) is greater than or equal to 1480.degree. C., characterized in that sulfides are used as a refining agent. It also relates to the glass article capable of being obtained by this method.
