Compositions for increased antioxidant potency of natural vitamin E
(d-alpha-tocopherol), comprising alpha-, beta-, delta-, and gamma-forms
of tocopherols and tocotrienols are disclosed. All of these compositions
provide 400 International Units (IU), based on one mg of
d-alpha-tocopherol provides 1.49 IU. These compositions showed
antioxidant activities superior to natural d-alpha-tocopherol. These
compositions are designed to provide protection of the cell membrane
lipid layer, and protection against heart disease, cancer, and eye
disease.
