A unified and flexible signaling method and radio interface accommodate
different multiple access schemes, e.g, FDMA, TDMA, CDMA, OFCDM, and
IFDMA. Each user data unit is associated with one of several different
multiple access techniques that defines how multiple users access
communication resources. Each user data unit is processed into discrete
samples, where the discrete samples for each user data unit are assigned
to one or more respective discrete signal blocks. Discrete samples
associated with different multiple access techniques are processed and
grouped together into a time slot or packet for transmission over a
communication channel.
