Described is a method and system for triggering a device with a range
finder based on aiming pattern. The system includes a processing device
acquiring and processing data; an imager providing an image of an object;
a range finder determining a distance from the imager to the object; a
timer which is activated by the processing device; and an application
acquiring data from the object within a measuring range if the processing
device determines that the distance remains within a stabilization range
for a period of time.
