Embodiments of a food ordering system include a menu board station adapted
to display information about a plurality of food items. At least one
dispenser is associated with at least one of the plurality of food items.
The at least one dispenser is adapted to dispense an article including
identifying data corresponding to one of the plurality of food items. An
article receiving station is adapted to receive the article and identify
the identifying data on the article. Other embodiments of a food ordering
system include a menu board station displaying information about a
plurality of food items. The information includes at least one identifier
associated with each food item. An ordering panel is proximate to the
menu board station and includes a user interface for placing an order by
inputting one or more of the identifiers. A kitchen interface is operably
linked to the ordering panel for receiving the order.
