A liquid crystal display device is provided having excellent contrast and
an electronic apparatus using the same, including a first substrate
having first wiring patterns thereon; a second substrate having second
wiring patterns thereon, wherein the second wiring patterns are placed
opposite to the first wiring pattern; and a liquid crystal material
interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein
a step is arranged in the liquid crystal display device, and wherein a
formation position of a gap between the adjacent first wiring patterns or
between the adjacent second wiring patterns and a formation position of
the steps which directly or indirectly contact with the liquid crystal
material, match.
