The invention relates to an absorbent adhesive body of a foamed pressure sensitive hydrocolloid adhesive comprising one or more water soluble or water swellable hydrocolloids and having gas bubbles incorporated therein, where the gas in the gas bubbles are in direct contact with said pressure sensitive hydrocolloid adhesive and where tan .delta. for said adhesive in un-foamed form is below 0.35 at 40.degree. C. and 0.001 rad/sec.
