An evaluation instrument, pertaining to the system, comprises a storage container, where a plurality of test elements is held ready for use, a sample application position, where one test element at a time is brought into contact with the sample, a measuring device for the determination of a measurable variable characteristic for the analysis, and a transport device, by which one test element at a time is taken out of the test element storage container at the take out position and transported to the sample application position.
