Orthopedic medical devices for use in orthopedic procedures are provided,
having in certain embodiments a first member and a second member
configured to replace a disk between a first vertebra and a second
vertebra. Additionally, the second member is also configured to fuse the
second vertebra to at least a third vertebra. In one embodiment, the
second member has a first portion that is elastic and a second portion
that is substantially rigid. In other embodiments, the second member is
substantially rigid. In yet another embodiment, the first member and
second member are configured to replace a disk between the first vertebra
and the second vertebra, and the second member and a third member are
configured to replace a second disk between the third vertebra and a
fourth vertebra. In this embodiment, the first, second, and third members
may be connected to vertebrae by various anchors.
