A biometric apparatus includes: at least two electrode members arranged so
as to be capable of coming into contact with a measured person; a
determining device that determines whether the at least two electrode
members are in a conducting state via a body of the measured person or
not; a measuring device that measures biometric data of the measured
person; and a control device that activates or deactivates the measuring
device on the basis of a result of determination provided by the
determining device.
