In a method a carrier signal is modulated depending on data to be transmitted. The modulated carrier signal is transmitted via an optical fiber line. The transmitted modulated carrier signal is demodulated, thereby producing received data. The transmitted modulated carrier signal is used to produce an auxiliary carrier signal. Said auxiliary carrier signal is modulated depending on the received data and then transmitted via a radio antenna.
