The present invention relates to an anti-cancer composition, which comprises a sulfur-containing compound thiacremonone as an active ingredient. The active ingredient induces the death of cancer cells by apoptosis through the action of specific inhibition of the activity of NF-.kappa.B. The composition can be effectively used in the treatment or prevention of cancer.
