The image capturing element drive system includes a substrate, of which surface is perpendicular to the optical axis, an image capturing element board, which has the image capturing element thereon and is adapted to be driven in parallel with the surface of the substrate with a plurality of rolling support systems provided to the image capturing element board, a biasing system, which is adapted to bias the image capturing element board in a predetermined direction, and a drive system, which is adapted to drive the image capturing element board against biasing force of the biasing system.
