A fabric treatment composition comprising from about 0.0001% to about 0.01% by weight of a fabric substantive dye loaded onto a particle carrier having an average particle size of less than 100 .mu.m is disclosed. The process for making the fabric treatment composition is described. A fabric substantive dye-loaded particle carrier having an average particle size of less than 100 .mu.m and comprising from about 0.001% to about 1% by weight of a fabric substantive dye is described.
