Method for producing dielectric powder comprising steps of; preparing titanium dioxide powder having sum of surface chlorine amount and internal chlorine amount of 2000 ppm or less, surface chlorinity of 120 ppm or less, rutilated ratio of 30% or less, BET specific surface area of 30 m.sup.2/g or more; preparing barium compound powder to produce barium oxide by thermolysis; preparing powder mixture of titanium dioxide powder and barium compound powder; and heat treating the powder mixture.
