The present invention relates generally to phenanthridine carbonyl compositions such as substituted phenanthridine carbonyl phenols of Formula 1: ##STR00001## wherein R.sub.1 to R.sub.15 are as defined in the specification, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; and methods of using them.
