This invention relates to a novel mixture of lipids and the use thereof
for preparing a food product intended for oral or enteral nutrition
wherein the lipid mixture has a balanced and adequate fatty acid profile
specially suited for using the same in complete nutritional products for
oral or enteral administration. Such fatty acid profile, from vegetable
and fish oils, provides a relatively low content of saturated fatty
acids, a high content of medium-chain and monounsaturated fatty acids
(oleic acid) and a balanced supply of essential (linoleic and
.alpha.-linolenic) fatty acids, as well as long-chain polyunsaturated
fatty acids of the Omega 3 series (n-3).
