The present invention relates to novel N-Poly (alkenyl) acryl amides of formula (1) where in m=1-8, n=2-100 ##STR00001## and to a process for preparation thereof and process for preparation thereof by reacting an unsaturated poly(olefin) of the formula C.sub.nH.sub.2m where n and m are as given above with acrylonitrile in presence of an acid catalyst.
