The rechargeable battery also includes a first output lug bundle comprising the output lugs of the positive electrode plates of a first cell electrically connected together and a second output lug bundle comprising the output lugs of the negative electrode plates of the first cell electrically connected together. The first output lug bundle and the second output lug bundle each comprise a recess for holding a pole output conductor, the pole output conductor having a clamping shoe with two clamping plates which can be moved relative to one another by means of a clamping screw in which case the clamping screw can be inserted into the recess in the output lug bundle.
