The invention relates to a device for detecting and localising objects.
The inventive device comprises a 3D camera for recording
three-dimensional situation images of an area to be monitored; first
means for evaluating the three-dimensional situation images using
suitable object detection methods for determining an object in the area
to be monitored and the position of the object in said area; a 2D camera
for recording two-dimensional situation images of the region in the area
to be monitored in which the position of the object has been determined;
and second means for evaluating the two-dimensional situation images
using suitable object detection methods for redetermining the object in
the area to be monitored.
