An organic electroluminescent device comprising an organic layer at least
having a light emission layer provided between an anode and a cathode,
wherein the anode has at least one layer comprised of an alloy containing
aluminum as a main ingredient, and the alloy contains at least one
element whose work function is relatively smaller than that of the main
ingredient as a secondary ingredient, the device being relatively
inexpensive, having high reliability and capable of reducing
disconnection due to hillock or migration.
