The present invention relates to a method for alleviation, prevention, and treatment of anxiety, depression, and sexual dysfunction by administering certain indolylalkyl derivatives of pyrimidinylpiperazine or metabolites thereof. A preferred embodiment is of the following formula: ##STR00001##
