Bacillus strains that inhibit pathogenic swine E. coli and/or improve
performance are provided. Inhibition of pathogenic swine E. coli
decreases E. coli disease. At least one strain enhanced swine performance
by improving average daily gain, feed efficiency, and feed intake.
Preferred Bacillus strains are of species that are included on the GRAS
list. Bacillus species are sporeformers and therefore are highly stable
and can be fed to swine.
