This invention relates to a method of inhibiting the expression of TNF.alpha. or IL-1.beta. with a compound of the following formula: ##STR00001## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are defined herein. It also relates to is a method of treating inflammatory bowel disease with such a compound.
