A polymer having a first repeat unit comprising a group having general formula (I) which is substituted or unsubstituted: ##STR00001## where at least one of R.sup.1 or R.sup.2 comprises at least two substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl groups and excluding the group having general formula (I) where one or both of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 comprises a triarylamine group.
