The storage device is operable to store instructions that, when executed by the processor, display on the display as a home screen a portion of a virtual world. The virtual world includes a plurality of objects sharing a common theme. At least one of the plurality of objects is operable to launch an application and at least one of the plurality of objects is operable to provide notification of an event to a user of the system.
