The housing body defines a longitudinal axis and includes a cross-shaped or star-shaped configuration in vertical relationship to the longitudinal axis. Thus, when the electric machine is inserted in the fan housing, the corners of the mounting flange of the electric machine for attachment to the motor-driven element remain clear for easy access to screw fasteners.
