The present invention provides the tripeptide MAP and/or the tripeptide
ITP and/or salts thereof for use as a health benefit agent, especially in
functional food products. The tripeptides have particular application in
the areas of the prevention of obesity or body weight control and
cardiovascular health maintenance, especially the inhibition of
angiotensin-converting enzyme and the control of blood cholesterol
levels. Functional Food products comprising these tripeptides and having
health benefits in these areas, and a process for making these products,
are also provided. The tripeptides can be conveniently incorporated into
food products to provide the aforementioned health benefits to the
consumer thereof.
