An electrolyte capable of improving battery characteristics even at high
temperatures, a battery including the electrolyte, and a method for
manufacturing an electrolyte are provided. The electrolyte contains at
least one type of compound represented by the following formula:
##STR00001## where R1, R2, R3, and R4 independently represent a hydrogen
group, a fluorine group, a methyl group, an ethyl group, or a group in
which a fluorine group has substituted for a part of the methyl group or
the ethyl group; at least one of R1, R2, R3, and R4 is a group containing
fluorine (F); and X, Y, and Z independently represents sulfur (S) or
oxygen (O) except the case in which all of X, Y, and Z are oxygen (O),
that is, X=Y=Z=O.
