A user friendly apparatus and method provides effective pain control
resulting from headaches and facial aches, which can be safely used by
patients and medical personal alike. The economical apparatus can provide
a controller equipped with an injector having a tubular section and
nozzle, as well as a nostril-engaging introducer and an optional handle.
In the user friendly method, the tubular section of the injector can be
inserted through a nostril. The nozzle can then be positioned at an
upward angle of inclination in proximity and downwardly and rearwardly of
the sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG nerve). Thereafter, an anesthetic can be
injected through the nozzle and sprayed upwardly, towards and about the
SPG nerve to minimize pain and control a headache or facial ache.
