An Internet Protocol (IP) television (TV) and an operating method thereof
are disclosed. The operating method includes storing first content data
in a storage medium of the IP TV after receiving and decoding the first
content data, detecting information of second content data stored in the
storage medium if it is determined that a storage space of the storage
medium to store the first content data is deficient, comparing the
detected information of the second content data with information of third
content data provided from a content server, and deleting the second
content data from the storage medium if the information of the second
content data is the same as the information of the third content data as
a result of the comparison.
