cathode, providing a layer of bank portions on the cathode or the anode,
the bank portions defining apertures, providing the light emitting units
in the apertures, providing the charge-generating portions over the light
emitting units, at least one of the charge-generating layers being formed
using a depositing device, and providing the other of the anode and the
cathode. A display apparatus has a laminated organic electroluminescent
element obtained with the manufacturing method. The manufacturing method
provides with a high production efficiency an organic EL element having
between a cathode and an opposing transparent anode at least one layer of
a plurality of light-emitting units partitioned by at least one layer of
charge-generating layers.
