The pharmaceutical compositions comprising, as an active ingredient, (2S)-2-benzl-3-(cis-hexahydro-2-isoindolinylcarbonyl)propionic aid (generic name: mitiglinide) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, or a hydrate thereof exert remarkable lipid metabolism improving effect, and are useful for, for example, hyperlipidemia such as hypertriglyceridemia of diabetic patients or the like.
