The present invention relates to a unit dose detergent product comprising a liquid fabric treatment composition and a water-soluble material, whereby the unit dose of the liquid composition is contained within the water-soluble material, wherein the liquid composition is a non-Newtonian, shear-thinning liquid having a low shear viscosity of at least 3,000 cps, when measured at a shear rate of 0.5 s.sup.-1 and 20.degree. C., and wherein the liquid composition comprises silicone oil, the silicone oil being emulsified in the liquid composition so that the mean particle diameter of the emulsified silicone oil droplets is from 5 to 50 micrometers.
