A solid phase change ink composition that includes an ink vehicle, a
colorant, and at least one naturally derived material. At least one
naturally derived material is a low melt material having an onset of
melting from about 45.degree. C. to about 120.degree. C., and a melt
transition width of from about 3.degree. C. to about 30.degree. C. Also
provided is a method for producing a solid phase change ink composition
that includes selecting at least one naturally derived material, forming
an ink vehicle, and adding a colorant, wherein at least one naturally
derived material is a low melt material having an onset of melting of
from about 45.degree. C. to about 120.degree. C., and a melt transition
width of from about 3.degree. C. to about 30.degree. C. An ink jet device
that includes the solid phase change ink composition described in the
present disclosure is also provided.
