A reaction generator, such as a sound emitter, light emitter, and a motion actuator, is operable to simulate one or more desired personality traits in response to a predetermined event and in accordance with one or more predetermined reaction parameters. A reaction triggers an emotional response from a user and thereby establishes an emotional attachment between a user and the device.
