An apparatus for controlling a hybrid vehicle including a first coupling
element disposed between an engine and a motor-generator, a second
coupling element disposed between the motor-generator and driving wheels
of the hybrid vehicle, a sensor for sensing temperatures of the first
coupling element and/or the second coupling element and a controller. The
controller controls an amount of slippage in either the first coupling
element, the second coupling element, or both, depending on the sensed
temperatures.
