The present invention provides a compound of formula (I) ##STR00001## or its salts or pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, X.sub.1, and A are defined herein. The compounds are useful as potassium ion channel inhibitors.
