A transimpedance amplifier (TIA) includes N cascaded pairs of
transconductance amplifiers, where N is an integer greater than 1. Each
one of the N cascaded pairs includes a first transconductance amplifier
having an input and an output, and a second transconductance amplifier
having an input that communicates with the output of the first
transconductance amplifier and an output. Each one of the N cascaded
pairs includes a first resistance having first and second ends that
communicate with the input and the output of the second transconductance
amplifier, respectively. The TIA further includes a second resistance
having a first end that communicates with the input of the first
transconductance amplifier of a first one of the N cascaded pairs, and a
second end that communicates with the output of the second
transconductance amplifier of a last one of the N cascaded pairs.
