A method is provided for the thermo-neutral reforming of liquid hydrocarbon fuels which employs a Ni, Ce.sub.2O.sub.3, La.sub.2O.sub.3, Pt.sup.-ZrO.sub.2, Rh and Re catalyst having dual functionalities to achieve both combustion and steam reforming.
