In accordance with the present invention, when a user makes an information
assistance call to an information/call center requesting a listing, the
user can make arrangements for various services relating to the requested
listing in the same call. These services may be presented to an operator
as options, and in turn presented to the user for selection. However, the
options undesired by the user, based on personal preferences stored in a
personal profile, or unsupported by the telephone service to which the
user subscribes are not presented to the operator and thus not made
available to the user. If the user is interested in any of the available
options, the operator accesses the selected option and makes an
appropriate arrangement for the underlying service for the user.
