A microactuator includes: a base to be joined to a flexure; a pair of arms
joined to the base; and PZT devices, mounted on the arms, to be deformed
in an expanding or contracting manner based on driving signals applied,
and the microactuator holds the side faces of the magnetic head slider
between the arms. The length of each arm is set to a length same as or
shorter than that of the magnetic head slider in a longitudinal
direction.
