A device and method of forming a gutta-percha tooth canal obturation. The
device includes an amount of gutta-percha that is supported by a
thermally conductive core. The core and the gutta-percha are both
positioned within a root canal. In canal heating of the core heats the
gutta-percha proximate an application point thereby improving the ability
to compact the gutta-percha to the shape of the root canal and achieve
three dimensional obturation preventing reinfection of the canal.
