An aircraft induction oven excitation arrangement includes at least one
connection for an on-board power supply system, at least one power supply
rectifier that can be connected to a phase of the power supply system, a
converter that is arranged downstream of the at least one power supply
rectifier and that includes a switching element, a controller that drives
the at least one converter, a rectifier that is arranged downstream of
the converter in order to produce an intermediate circuit voltage, an
inverter that is connected to the intermediate circuit voltage. The
switching element has a turn-on resistance R.sub.dson .ltoreq.about
0.1.OMEGA. and a self-capacitance .ltoreq.about 200 pF at voltages of
.gtoreq.about 200 V across the switching element.
