The invention relates to novel hexylcarboxanilides of the formula (I) ##STR00001## in which L, R.sup.1, R.sup.3 and A are as defined in the disclosure, to a plurality of processes for preparing these compounds and their use for controlling unwanted microorganisms, and to novel intermediates and their preparation.
