A laser-decomposable resin composition, includes: (A) a polymer compound containing a structure represented by formula (0) as a repeating unit in a main chain of the polymer compound: ##STR00001## wherein R.sub.1 represents H or a hydrocarbyl group which may have a substituent; and (B) a photo-latent or heat-latent catalyst, and a pattern-forming material, includes: a layer containing the laser-decomposable resin composition.
