A new and distinct variety of interspecific tree (Prunus
salicina.times.(Prunus salicina.times.Prunus armeniaca)); the features of
the tree and its fruit are characterized with the tree budded on Nemaguard
rootstock (unpatented), grown on Hanford sandy loam soil with Storie Index
rating 95, in USDA Hardiness Zone 9, near Modesto, Calif., and with
standard commercial cultural fruit growing practices, such as pruning,
thinning, spraying, irrigation and fertilization. Its novelty consists of
the following unique combination of features that are desirable in a new
interspecific tree:
1. Heavy and regular production of large size fruit.
2. Fruit ripening in the late maturity season.
3. Fruit with firm flesh, good storage and shipping quality.
4. Fruit with high soluble solids, averaging 17.4.degree. Brix.
5. Relatively uniform size of fruit throughout the tree.
6. Fruit holding firm on the tree 14 to 18 days after maturity (shipping
ripe).
7. Fruit with good flavor and eating quality.
8. Fruit with an attractive garnet red skin color.
9. Vigorous, upright growth.
