Disclosed and claimed are: a composition including at least one glycosaminoglycan, e.g., CIS, and at least one alginate, e.g., sodium alginate, wherein: the at least one glycosaminoglycan and/or the algninate are cross-linked or polymerized, e.g., the alginate is cross-linked or polymerized, for instance by addition of an inorganic salt, such as a calcium salt; or the at least one glycosaminoglycan and the alginate are covalently bound, e.g., by means of a coupling reaction involving a linker molecule such as DVS; or the at least one glycosaminoglycan and/or the algninate are cross-linked or polymerized, e.g., the alginate is cross-linked or polymerized, for instance by addition of an inorganic salt, such as a calcium salt, and the at least one glycosaminoglycan and the alginate are covalently bound, e.g., by means of a coupling reaction involving a linker molecule such as DVS, and the covalent binding can have been performed prior to cross-linking or polymerizing or vice versa; and, gels comprising the composition; mixtures of such gels or of at least one such gel and at least one such composition; and, methods for making and using such compositions and gels, including products therefrom such as "paints", sprays, matrices, beads, microcapsules.

Onthuld en geëist worden: een samenstelling met inbegrip van minstens glycosaminoglycan één, b.v., de GOS, en minstens één alginate, b.v., natriumalginate, waarin: minstens glycosaminoglycan één en/of algninate cross-linked of gepolymeriseerd, b.v., cross-linked alginate of wordt gepolymeriseerd, bijvoorbeeld door toevoeging van een anorganisch zout, zoals een calciumzout; of minstens glycosaminoglycan één en alginate zijn covalent verbindend, b.v., door middel van een koppelingsreactie die een linker molecule zoals DVS impliceert; of minstens glycosaminoglycan één en/of algninate cross-linked of gepolymeriseerd, b.v., cross-linked alginate of wordt gepolymeriseerd, bijvoorbeeld door toevoeging van een anorganisch zout, zoals een calciumzout, en minstens glycosaminoglycan één en alginate zijn covalent verbindend, b.v., door middel van een koppelingsreactie die een linker molecule zoals DVS impliceert, en de covalente band kan voorafgaand aan het cross-linking of het polymeriseren uitgevoerd te zijn of vice versa; en, gelen bestaand uit de samenstelling; mengsels van dergelijke gelen of van minstens één dergelijk gel en minstens één dergelijke samenstelling; en, methodes om dergelijke samenstellingen en gelen, met inbegrip van producten zoals "verven" daarvan te maken en te gebruiken, nevels, matrijzen, parels, microcapsules.
